An antibody specific for SERPINA10 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anySERPINA10 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjµgated antibody specific for SERPINA10 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjµgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SERPINA10 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. Product Overview:Protein Z-dependent protease inhibitor is a protein circµLating in the blood which inhibits factors Xa and XIa of the coagµLation cascade. It is a member of the class of the serine protease inhibitors (serpins). Its name implies that it requires protein Z, another circµLating protein, to function properly, but this only applies to its inhibition of factor X. It is about 72 kDa heavy and 444 amino acids large. It is produced by the liver.Water et al. found deficiency of ZPI in 4.4% of a cohort of patients with thrombophilia (a tendency to thrombosis).Han et al. first described ZPI in 1998.
